Maida

Where else would you find a deerhound statue as big as a bus?
Today it was 'gie dreech' in the City of Edinburgh but worthy o’ a wee look at The Sir Walter Scott Monument on Princes Street.
Well its really ‘Maida the Deerhound’ Monument of course, who can be seen allowing Sir Walter to read a book whilst sitting beside her for the sculptor.
Probably one of the most famous of Scottish Deerhounds, and should you be in Scotlands Capital City . . . take a look.
Find out more about Maida’s owner here http://www.walterscott.lib.ed.ac.uk/
